Winner of the quiz for January !

Yes, this is Wakoto Hanto (Peninsula) in Lake Kussharo of Hokkaido.

 It has a very nice natural hot spring bath at the edge of the lake and many tourists including campers enjoy soaking in the bath in the night watching the stars.
Green water weeds like mosses are floating on the surface and in the water. It slightly smells like sulfur but the water is clear.

Besides, I took this photo on the left on our way to Nonaka Onsen from Lake Kussharo.
Buautiful sunset and Mt. Oakan(dake) created very nice contrast. In order to take the photo of Nonaka Onsen and Mt. Meakan(dake), we were spurting for the hot spring.
The beautiful silhouette of konide could be seen from the east side of Mt. Oakan(dake).

Every time I go back to the eastern part of Hokkaido, I am given ample power to fight the uphill battle. Food, hot spring spa, tremendously beautiful scenery that makes everybody eager to cut out it in photos, everything is "Me gusta!"
But this time, something evil went into my stomach and I suffered dehydration and pain from diarrhea.  Please be careful when you have meals at the restaurant and fast food shops at the end of year!
This is Sulfur Mountain in winter, to boot.
