Some old arteries were at the entrance of the caves on Peleliu Island. Japanese Imperial soldiers fought with such few arms against huge American army. The suicide-like battle was arranged by the headquarters of Japanese Imperial Army.

So many espionages were in the central government of Japan and private area that the government didn't function for Japanese nation enough. Japanese people including the government officers didn't have ample ability to fight against the greedy nations.

 

Who cut the wrists of the people in the colonies ?

The occidental countries that run their colonies and plantation were so greedy that the administrators of the plantations cut the slave's wrists or arms when the slaves didn't accomplish their norma even if the slave was a child.

We found a cave in which the last Japanese Imperial soldiers killed themselves before they were found by US army. Without the helping additional squad from Japan, the Japanese Imperial soldiers were deemed to die. 

 

For the people in Asia including Japanese!

The battle in the jungle on Peleliu Island must have been so harsh and tough. The US army thought they would defeat the Japanese soldiers in three days but as a result, it took more than two months to kill all the Japanese soldiers .

Why Japan was forced to be involved in World War Ⅱ？ Because of the lack of strategy and malice as well as the ability to get the perspectives of the world. Japan should not break the temporary promise with Edward Henry Harriman to run the railway network in Manturia together. 

 

Died in famine and honour!

We prayed for the deceased Japanese Imperial soldiers in front of the alter built on the last battle for on Peleliu Island of Palau Republic. The key person from Hokkaido delivered some kind of mantra there to introduce the delegation from Hokkaido and ease the pain of the soldiers' soul.

Each of the delegation members prayed for the deceased Japanese Imperial soldiers as well. They extended their appreciation and condolences. The soldiers died in famine. We had to bring the bones of the soldiers back to their home country Japan where their families had been waiting for them.

The Japanese Shinto-style alter was built near the place where Japanese Imperial soldiers mainly from Hokkaido saw the sky and died. They could not come back to their hometown. We really appreciate the consideration and cooperation provided by the central and regional government of the Republic of Palau.  

So many mines are still under the ground on Peleliu Island that the bones of the deceased could not picked up and collected and that the development of the island can not be proceeded.

We have to take away the mines on the island and collect  the bones of the Japanese Imperial soldiers to bring them back to their home country. 

 

The Place where the Japanese Imperial Army for Asia fought and died!

One year after the Imperial visit to Peleliu Island of Palau Republic in April, 2016, Hokkaido Prefectural Government and the Hokkaido Legislative Assembly sent a delegation to the island for the memorial service conducted by the nation of Palau.   

  So many Imperial soldiers of Japan fought to free the exploited people in Palau and died there without support from the home country. 

  We really appreciated the consideration and cooperation provided by the Republic of Palau.

After the ceremony for the deceased Japanese soldiers, the President of Palau Republic and the Governor of Peleliu Island kindly arranged the feast for the guests from other islands of Palau and  overseas.

This is the way the Japanese Imperial soldiers used in WWⅡ.

 

Well-founded Buckwheat Noodle Restaurant Yabuhan in Otaru !

There are many famous and popular eateries that I have never been to even in Hokkaido. I did not know this buckwheat noodle restaurant founded in 1954. Many tourists from overseas were in the restaurant.  

In Edo Era before Meiji Restoration, buckwheat noodle eateries played the role as Japanese traditional bistro "Izakaya". Actually, the well-established buckwheat noodle restaurant "Yabuhan" provided the guests a variety of tasteful dishes and bowls making the most of food materials sourced locally.

The hot buckwheat noodle soup topped with oyster was superb and delicious. Of course, the top quality buckwheat itself was so nice to have and filled me up with happiness. 

The appearance of the restaurant made so nice atmosphere in the city.

 

Penthouse Bath of Hotel Gridz in Otaru !

The shower booth of the public spa of  Grids Premium Hotel Otaru was so tidy and chic with black colored units. The partition seemed to be made of wood but they were arts of RFP. The scenery that could be seen from the spa was the yacht harbor and Sea of Japan.

The northern coastline facing the west and Sea of Japan can be seen from the spa. The Port City had a large canal before but the base of the overseas route was moved to Tomakomai City facing Pacific Ocean and Otaru City had to change its key industry to tourism on top of fishery. 

The outside spa is not so large but to keep the space quiet, it may be appropriate. Please watch your step on the floor near the entrance. It is slippery or ragged with ice in winter. Different from natural hot spring spas, the warmth got from bathing can not be kept for a while. 

Mt. Tengu(yama) that had nice downhill ski course could be seen from the spa too.

 

Hotel Grids in Otaru !

We were booked in a maisonette type room on the sixth floor. It may be dangerous for seniors and drunken guys but it was so comfortable for us to enjoy one-night stay in Otaru. 

Internet condition was so good even for foreigners and suitcase rest is equipped.  

Please watch your step when you go up the ladder to the bed. The frame of the bed made of steel. Don't hit your head on the frame even in the dark. The wind of the air-conditioner comes directly from the ceiling. Please be careful on the direct wind. 

It is not hot spring spa but very cozy and refreshing. It looked so nice and new but in case of hot spring spa, the germ of the bathtub tends to be covered and hidden by the ingredients of the hot spring water such as calcium carbonate. But the normal tab water can not keep the germ from sticking on the tile of the bath.

No Name in Otaru !

The name of the restaurant is "No Name". The owner chef had run several French and Italian restaurants in Otaru before. He closed or sold them when he felt it was the time to do that.

But he decided to run a French restaurant in Otaru City again when he turned seventy years old. 

He loves to talk to the guests at the counter table and entering the restaurant. He is a real entertainer over the counter table but the real protagonists are on the table. He had contemplated  the name of the new restaurant and he decided to name it "No Name" 

We could recognize the creativity and imagination of the seasoned and skilled  owner chef with theses beautiful arrange of the dishes transcending the category of the cuisine.

The veggie salad, pork chop, gratin were our choice on that day.
