Vice Governor of Hokkaido Mr. Motohito URAMOTO joined the Chinese Delegation in taking memorial photos on the lookout of Mt. Usu. Mr. Luo ZhaoHui, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Kong Xuan You, Ambassador of China to Japan joined the photo.

Consul General of China to Sapporo Mr. Sun Zhen Yong joined the line at  last. He visited this area again and again to give Mr. Wang a splendid briefing on the region.

Such kinds of high-level visit to Hokkaido again and again in the future. Please contemplate the meaning of their visit to Hokkaido. They tend to get closer to us with smiles, particularly, when we have what they want.

Mr. Wang Qishan and Mr. Wang Bing-nan, Vice Ministeorfor Commercial Affairs of China. The top Brasses of Chinese Delegation members took memorial photos of their visit to Hokkaido with the National Vice President of China.

Ms. Zou Jiayi, Vice Minister for Finance also took photos with Mr. Wang Qishan. Her beauty fitted the autumnal beautiful foliage to a T. I've never see her in the Intelligence report of private sector.

Mr. Lin Nianxiu, Vice Chair of National Development and Reform Committee looked so happy and enjoying his stay in Hokkaido.  I am very happy to see them enjoying themselves in Hokkaido.

What Mr. Wang was watching !

Too much camera-men might be embarrassing for Top Brasses of the states but celebrities might be used to such kind of shooting by mass media. I was so impressed by this Chinese camera-man because he competed the best position to take photos with me.

 This is the landscape Mr. Wang was watching from the peak of Mt. Usu for a while. The lighting was so nice just before so-called "Magic Hour". Compared to the magnificent landscape of Chinese continent, this might be a piece of cake but we love this small island so much.

After coming back from Canada, I had been contemplating  what were the cutting edge of Hokkaido with regard to initing tourists. The size of the landscape was much bigger in North America than Hokkaido. Canada is more Hokkaido-ish than Hokkaido. What do you think the cutting edge of Hokkaido is?

What was National Vice President of China thinking ?

Above is my favorite photograph that I took during his stay in Hokkaido. I found Mr. Wang was so nice photogenic with the landscape of Hokkaido. Very nice seasoned countenances appeared in the frame. It was like a beautiful drawing of a human being and scenery.

 The local guide politely explained on how the landscape had been made, the fauna and flora of that area as well as the seasonal change of the landscape.

 Mr. Wang was wearing his peculiar atmosphere around him and that fitted the autumnal landscape of the area to a T. Silver or golden years might have come to him. Peaceful and fruitful time for life.

National Vice President of China visited Mt. Usu !

After cruising on Lake Toya, Mr. Wang Qishan went up to the peak of Mt. Usu and stood on the lookput facing the lake.Consul General of China in Sapporo Mr. Sun happily explaind the geographical condition and the history of that area, including eruption of the volcano. 

Mr. Wang calmly looking at the lake and the surrounding mountains. I could not ask what he was thinking at that time but I felt as if he became a part of the beautiful scenery. The the would be "The Old man and the Lake" like "The Old Man and the Sea" written by Ernest Hemingway.

When Mr. Wang watching he landscape, nobody talked to him but I was eager to ask him what he was remembering. That  time might be his precious time to calm down and contemplate everything for the future of China ad his family.

Canadian Minister visited Hokkaido!

The Minister of Canadian Embasy in Tokyo Mr. Tracy Reynolds visited Hokkaido and paid a courtesy call on Vice Governor of Hokkaido Mr. Yusuke NAKNO. It was the first visit to Hokkaido for him but the climate and the landscape of Hokkaido must be seem like that of Canada, I think.

Canadian  trade commissioner in Sapporo Mr. Shinichi TSUJIO kindly escorted Mr. Reynolds to the venue of the meeting . Mr. Tsujio played and is playing       ^so important role in broadening, deepening and strengthening the relationship between Hokkaido and Canada.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

I recognized that so many Canada-lovers had joined Hokkaido Canada Society and the supporters for Hokkaido-Canada relatonhip are sincerely contributing to handing down the splendid relationship to next generations. Canada is special fo Hokkaido people, particularly for me.

Canada Lovers in Hokkaido Legislative Assembly!

Minister of Canadian Embassy in Tokyo Mr. Tracy  Reynolds had a lunch with Japan-Canada Friendship League in Hokkaido Legislative Assembly in a Japanese cuisine Restaurant of JR Tower Building. All of the members of Liberal Democratic Party in Hokkaido Legislative Assembly had joined the Friendship League. That showed their enthusiasm on the exchange with Canada including Alberta Province.

The President of the Friendship League Mr. Akira TOMIHARA could not join the lunch but the Vice President Mr. Hisao INAMURA ,whose daughter graduated the college im Montreal, Quebec, could join the lunch.

Minister Raynolds paid a courtesy call on Vice Governor of Hokkaido Mr. Yusuke NAKANO before the lunch.
Hokkaido Prefectural Government used to dispatch an officer to Embassy of Japan in Ottawa before. I had been in Ottawa for three years ad half from 1999 to 2002 after three year tough work in Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Japan from 1996 to 1999 and came back to Hokkaido. I am eager to dispatch able officers of Hokkaido Prefectural Government for the rosy future of Hokkaido.

Vice Mayor of Qiqihar City visited Hokkaido!

Vice Mayor of Qiqihar City Mr. Wang paid a courtesy call on Senior Director for International Affairs of Hokkaido Mr. Yuji KONDO. Four other delegation members accompanied the Vice Mayor. They were given a briefing from the Department of Agriculture of Hokkaido and watched around the rice-polishing factory of Hokuren Pearl-rice in Ishikari Town.
Qiqihar City is the second biggest in Heilongjiang that has a friendship affiliation with Hokkaido.Other than Han tribe, 25 minority tribes are living in the city. "Qiqihar" means
"rural" in the language of Dauer whch is a kind of Mongolian language.   

Hokkaido Canada Society !

The annual meeting of the municipalities that have sister-city affiliations with Canadian municipalities was held in Sapporo City. Hokkaido Canada Society invited the pertinent municipalities
and entities including Hokkaido Prefectral Government,

Current President of the Society is Mr. Yoshihiro SEKIHACHI, CEO of Hokkaido Bank Company as well as the President of Hokkaido Tourism Promotion Organization. After his opening remarks, an active player of the international exchange between Hokkaido and Canada delivered the keynote speech.

So many challenges and hardles to get over were shared among the participants. Continuing the sister-city relationship seemed be tough in this graying population nowadays. But we have to hand down the splendid relationship with Canada to next generations.

Spicy hot noodle soup stand in Sapporo!

The Sapporo Branch restaurant of  "Shibire Noodle Soup Rousokuya"
headquartered in Ginza Area of Tokyo Metropolice opened in last October. Japanese pepper work wonders in this tantanmen noodle soup. I felt the striking taste of the spice so nicely. It was a little bit too salty for my wife but so good for me. "Shibire" means numbness in Japanese.

Tantanmen is one of my favorite noodle soup on this globe. I think it is a kind of art in Chinese culture. There are many ramen noodle soup restarants that specialized in Tantanmen noudle soup and mushroomed around this restaurant near Sapporo JR Station. The competition seemed to be so harsh nowadays. I will try another tantanmen noodle soup restaurant in the near future. I can not find the official URL of the branch restaurant in Sapporo but it can be seen at

Taekongdo from Korea4 !

One of the students seemed to be good at kicking. She was prompted to kick higher target. She may become a good Taekongdo fighter ,if she try.

After the practice for novices, memorial photo session was held in the gym. The same exchange program was held after the first one. I hope Japan and Korea will establish a good relationship after getting over the misunderstandings and hate.
