Mining Summit was held in Mikasa City !

It may be a terra incognita for me to explore into the process to get something on the list of the World Heritage or Geopark of UNESCO.
It seems that a hectic amount of paper work and enthusiasm were required despite explaining to the residents who were used to what the outsiders found valuable.
This shaft tower building of coalmine is owned by a private company and methane and other kinds of gas check is conducted on a regular basis even now.

 After the shaft tower and the galleries under the ground were closed by the private company, the methane gas inside exploded and demolished the building harshly. That is why the regular-basis check should be conducted. On the left was the facility to select and load coal on the wagons that were on tow by locomotives. 

This is the miniature of the shaft tower building of this coalmine called Honbetsu Tanko. 

Until the end of October, this approach to the second floor is set to see the inside where many funnel-like holes were equipped for loading coal.

The participants to the Mining Summit were treated to the BBQ party hosted by the NPO called "BBQ College" after the session in the Museum of coalmine and fossils.
Chilly breeze seemed to cool down the after sunset but their talk about the process to accomplish their objectives and goal heated up during the binge drinking.   

Before the toast, Professor Yoshioka explained about the plan to cooperate each other among the cities distanced in Japan.

Skewered and grilled lamb, chicken, beef and pork are the protagonist in the party. 

 Grilled squid and veggies accompanied with the BBQed meat.

A block of fresh venison was delivered with ginger paste & soy sauce to each table just for tasting.
