This gentleman is not the real coalmine worker but he was doing his best to allure the people walking through the underground promenade in front of Sapporo JR station. Actually some people who had been working for coalmine company asked him what was happening and what he was doing. His face was turned black with shoe cream.
Our staff members are contemplating what they can do for the future of Hokkaido including Sorachi sub-prefectural area. This time, each of 24 municipalities selected their best in each category of "to play", "to savor"and "to experience" for votes of the contest called "Sorachi General Election".
As I posted before, Sorachi area had many coalmines that supported the economic growth of Japan after World War Ⅱ. The national policy for energy procurement changed and cheaper coal came in from oversea. Needless to say, the coalmine industry in Hokkaido nosedived.
He seemed to have hit the nail right on the head, speaking of the people related to coalmine.
Depending on the impact and the popularity of the would-be icon, something like staffed doll or costume of the character may be made for the PR of the portal site and Sorachi sub-prefectural area.
Of course, no political consideration must not be paid and I have no power to manipulate the result of the election but I am so afraid of the intervention of politicians and fixers of Sorachi sub-prefectural area.
