It was the season of beautiful flowers of hydrangea. They were lit up and blooming in the darkness.
A statue of water hobgoblin called "Kappa" in Japanese was worshiped in the area.
Kappa s believed as a deity of river water. The top of their head is bald and wet. They are believed to live in the river but it is very cold in Hokkaido in winter.
