We passed by Otoineppu, Horonobe on our way to the northern end of Hokkaido, Wakkanai City. Horonobe had been the place where the debris of nuclear power factories would be carried in to purify and reuse in the fusion reactor.
It was a plan but has not been carried out so far. Depopulated areas in Hokkaido need the countermeasures against the aging population. Inviting the experimental institute was one of them for Horonobe.
The pioneers entered in Hokkaido expected better lives than in other southern island of Japan. They encountered a variety of tough situation and natural disasters. Their dream is still living in this northern island Hokkaido.
