I met Ms. Irene Hirano INOUE in this hotel for the first time. I am remembering her smile and project to have US-Japan Economic Summit in Hokkaido. She visited Sapporo after the Summit in the Big Island.

I escorted her and the Hawaiian Delegation to the Port City Otaru and let he see the construction tycoon Mr. Yoshiro ITO who called a shot in the interaction between Hokkaido and the US. 

It's a pity that she passed away and we will not host the US-Japan Economic Summit in Hokkaido in cooperation with Ms. Irene Hirano INOUE.
