Astronomical observatory !

I heard that Japanese Government built a new national astronomical observatory on this peak. Can you see several astronomical observatories of othe countries ?   

The number of the sunrise tours to this peak was limited because the place was and is the sacred area of the indigenous people in Hawaii and the time of sunrise is holy hour for them.

Most of the staff of each astronomical observatory are living and working in Kona on the east coast of the Big Island. I was not sure how many staffers were inside the observatory but the work may a kind of dream for cosmos lovers.
