On January 1 of every year, my wife treats me to a Japanese traditional tea ceremony. She used a special Japanese tea cup handed from her mentor this year. It was so beautiful but this type of tea cup is originally for summer.
As it is not so deep and good to cool down the green tea. The pattern on the cup was Japanese handy fan, piper bird, red and white Japanese peony flowers and the side of peony flowers was the face of the cup. We have to avoid to drink the green tea from the side. We should drink the tea from the opposite side of the cup. Do you like this design?
Pickled burdock and sweet white paste of beans were covered with white and transparent Turkish delights called Gyuhi in Japanese. The sour and salty taste of the pickled burdock suited to the sweetness of the bean paste. The superb green tea made me feel the polite sweetness in it. Would you try Japanese traditional beginning of new year?
