Japanese traditional Osechi !

We Japanese make such lunch-box-like meal set just before celebrating new year. All the restaurants and shops were closed at  the beginning of  Japanese new year before, and house wives also should have a rest, so they made such seasonal cuisine that could be eaten for three days. 
Steamed fishcake, boiled sweet black beans, datemaki, pacific herrings roe, pickled radish, boiled sweet chestnuts-paste, small fish boiled with soy-sauce and broth, boiled mixture of taro, konnyaku, pork bamboo shoots are thepopular contents of the meal box. The soup is made of fermented and dried bonito, grilled leek, steamed fishcake, grilled rice cake. Have you tried before?
