"Satsuma Beni" is the name of the Japanese peony. "Satsuma" is the name of the region located in the southern part of Kyushu Island. "Beni" means red in Japanese.
I found some interesting name of the peony such as "Donchou" which meant the stage curtain decorated so much. Japanese plant-raisers had made up some special beautiful flowers. Some of them are so expensive like "Bonsai".
