Originally, Muroran City developed with steel manufacturing industry. It is the town of steel. Importing the iron ore from overseas and carrying coal produced in other area of Hokkaido island by train, the plant has produced a variety of steel.
The plant of steel manufacturing looks so beautiful at night. These are the photos displayed in the building of the roadside rest station "Minato Oasis Muroran."
The landscape of the city including the Great Swan Bridge, the plant of steel manufacturing and the Mt. Sokuryo which means measuring in Japanese looked so fascinating based on these photos.
