The clouds and the sun made solemn atmosphere early in the morning on that day. I was fascinated by the scenery for a few minutes and looked around Itanki Beach in Muroran City.
White rock cliff could be seen on the west side of Itanki Beach. I had not recognized this landscape before. This beach is not for swimming now because rip currents occur in this area so frequently.
Surfers enjoy surf-riding nowadays. "Itanki" means a cup in the language of the indigenous people in Hokkaido Ainu. I was surprised at the proximity of the residential area and the ocean. Some seagulls were flying over the beach.
