The fountain is near the entrance to "Raiun Shrine" in Shari Town. The area is well-maintained as a waterpark of the town. The name of the shrine and the area derives from "Raikunnai" which means "the river of deceased" in the language of the ingigenous people in Hokkaido "Ainu". "Raiun" is described with the Chinese characters "来運" which means "coming fortune" in Japanese language.
After pouring the water in the empty bottles, we went up the hillside to the shrine. There was a Japanese Yew aged approximately on thousand year. The pure and mineral-rich water from the fountain wonders trees. It was the first time for us to visit there.
