St. Patrick's Day in Sapporo ４!

At the beginning of the opening ceremony of St. Patrick's Day Parade in Sapporo, Vice Mayor of Sapporo City Mr. Machida delivered the speech followed by Irish tunes performance.

The mascot character of Bikkuri Donkey Holdings and Sappro Nishi High School students joined the parade with green attires. It was so cold for the end of March on that day.

I am not sure why the mascot character of Yubari City Melon Bear with terrifying countenance joined the parade but the satellite office of Yubari City is very close to the venue of the ceremony. That is why ?
