I planned to hold the international conference of the indigenous people on this globe before but I was not successful at that time. It may be a tough call to allure one million visitors to this national Ainu museum "Upopoi" in Shiraoi Town.
The official mascot character of Shiraoi Town "Tureppon" welcome you all at the gate of the museum. The buildings of the museum, event hall, traditional houses of Ainu that are called "Chise" in their original language were located around Lake Poroto.
In winter, the museum is closed at five in the evening. So no night-event can not be expected in this season different from the green season when a variety of events are arranged after five. The comfy accommodation run by Hoshino Resort was also built near the lake. I wish I could arrange the international event of the indigenous people on this globe in cooperation with the friends of Hokkaido on the other parts of this world.
