Irish Trees grown in Engaru City !

We left the rugby fields in Engaru Town and headed to the outskirt of the town. The seeds of Irish trees brought from Ireland in 1964 when the Tokyo Olympic Games were held.

The National Tree Planting Committee of Japan asked the countries that dispatched the athletes to the Olympic Games, to bring the seeds of trees growing in each country, in order to enhance and hand down the friendship between Japan and the countries.

The seeds of the trees growing in the northern area were brought to Engaru Town and planted on the promises of a certain school in the forest in the outskirt of the town.
