The new Consul General of the United States of America Mr. Andrew LEE paid a courtesy call on the new Governor of Hokkaido Mr. Naomichi SUZUKI who had been the Mayor of Yubari City that had gone bankrupt years ago.

Precisely speaking, Mr. LEE is the first Consul General of the USA in Sapporo for the past several years. Before Mr. LEE's installation, Ms. Rachel Brunette Chen, the Principal Consul of the USA headed the Consulate General.
The present from the new Consul Generalof the USA was this necktie which motif was the national flag of the USA. I have never seen such tie in the US before except for the poster for recruiting soldiers with the comment "I want you !"
