The VIP who visited Engaru Town was His Excellency Mr. Paul KAVANAGH, Ambassador of Ireland in Japan. It was raining on that day but he recognized that the weather in Engaru Town is very similar to that in Ireland. The westerlies
that absorbed ample moist bring rainfall to Ireland.
Mayor of Engaru Town Mr. Shuici SASAKI figured out the plan to make the most of the trees brought from overseas 55 years ago and grown up. He asked Embassy of Ireland in Japan and the Ambassador Kavanagh o visit Engaru to have a look at the Irish trees grown up in the forest of the town.
