The Hokkaido Seminar got started by the opening remarks by the Vice President of Brazil Hokkaido Culture and Welfare Association Mr. Oston Ichiro HIRANO. I think he had been so busy to prepare for the events to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the immigration from Hokkaido to Brazil.
The introduction of Hokkaido itself was conducted by the Vice Governor of Hokkaido Mr. Yusuke NAKANO. Even the offspring of the immigrants from Hokkaido might not have seen Hokkaido.
Some of them had been to Hokkaido as trainees to learn a variety of technologies. The mayor of Abira Town Mr. Shuichiro OIKAWA also explained about the episode of the huge snowman brought from Hokkaido.
