Hokkaido Canada Association celebrated the fortieth Anniversary of its foundation. Minister of Canadian Embassy in Tokyo Madam Nadia Burger kindly visited Sapporo to take part in the ceremony.
The new Governor of Hokkaido also took part in the party and took photos with other participants.
The opening remarks were delivered by the President of the Association Mr. Yoshihiro SEKIHACHI.
The first Sister-state of Hokkaido Alberta Province also kindly dispatched the Head of Delegation to Japan Mr. David Anderson from Tokyo. Hokkaido and Alberta will celebrate their fortieth Anniversary in 2020. As Hokkaido and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the USA will celebrate the thirtieth sister-states anniversary in the same year, Hokkaido will send the delegation to both of the regions next year. The timing should be discussed in the not-so-distant future.
Anyway, congratulations on the 40th anniversary of Canada Association in Hokkaido. We are so looking forward to visit Alberta next year.
