Last but not least, my friend Mr. David Anderson also extended his congratulatory words on behalf of the citizens of Alberta. Every time he visits Sapporo, we raise glasses to confirm
the solid, beneficial and ever-lasting friendship between Hokkaido and Alberta as well as between us. But this time, I was practicing teetotal and in complete abstinence from alcoholic beverages, and he had to come back to Tokyo on that day, we did not have binge drinking that night.
To celebrate the anniversary, piano, strings and clarinet were played on the stage and a memento was handed to the President SEKIHACHI from the Minister of Canadian Embassy in Tokyo.
Just before closing the party, the New Chair of Hokkaido Legislative Assembly Mr. Noritoshi MURATA propose a toast following his congratulatory remarks. He had established the Japan-Canada Friendship Group in Hokkaido Legislative Assembly last year. The Vice Chair of the Assembly Mr. Toru Takahashi also attended to the party. I hope the relationship between Hokkaido and Canada will develop much more.
