The Hokkaido of Hokkaidos!

by Kazu

Compared to the scenery of the western and southern part of Hokkaido, the ones of the eastern part are more wilder and solemn, I think.
The peak of Mt. OAKAN wore white snow and seemed to be hard to climb to the peak.
It is the sacred area for the indigenous people of Hokkaido, Ainu.

We went down to Nemuro  City and stood on the lookout from where Port Nemuro and the Northern Territories of Japan could be seen. A bronze statue was standing on the hillside.
