My ex-staff who works now in Soya Sub-prefectural Office of Hokkaido Government visited Sapporo and raised glass with us. It seemed that he came to Sapporo almost every week to see his family. I should keep my fingers and toes crossed praying for his safety while driving to and from Sapporo.
It may take four hours to reach the northern end of Hokkaido, Wakkanai City from Sapporo.
I heard that some Russian guys tried to swim fro Sakhalin to Wakkanai but the swift current through the strait kept them from reaching Hokkaido.
