It seemed that giving a plant in the pot
was the custom that meant the mutual hope to nurture the relationship and make it solid and profitable. Unfortunately, bringing those plants to Japan is prohibited.
But we could bring the monuments on the desk to Hokkaido. Such kind of trophy-like item seemed to be popular in Indian Universities.
Each participant was handed the memento with plant in the pot before starting discussion. As the time of the meeting was limited, I introduced the delegation members from Hokkaido and explained about the cutting edge of Hokkaido and our intention to invite top talents from the university.
