It's a pity that the citizens of Sapporo City could not enjoy the annual "Hawaiian Fair" arranged and held by Sapporo Tokyu Department Store this year.
In order to commemorate the Sister-State Affiliation of Hokkaido and Hawaii, the CEO of the Department Store kindly hold this event every year.
But, because of the pandemic of Covid-19, the department store could not carry out this annual event this year. Normally, the event "Hawaiian Fair" is held in the first half of May.
Because Hokkaido and Hawaii signed up the Memorundom of Understanding to establish a Sister-state Affiliation on May7, 2017. Next year, we will celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the relationship. I hope Hokkaido Prefectural Government will be able to dispatch its delegation to Hawaii to celebrate and reaffirm the relationship next year.
