Japanese Pavilion in Sao Paulo !

by Kazu

This is the entrance of "Japanese Pavilion" in Sao Paulo that was given to the city from Japanese community in 1954. It has about fifty artistic works exhibited and the place for Japanese traditional tea ceremony.
The  Japanese lacquered trays, bowls, boxes were displayed in the pavilion. Japanese folding screen colored gold was on their back.
A five-story temple tower model was at the corner of the museum. I was not sure what kind of Japanese immigrant had brought such things. Did they make it in Brazil ?
