This is the northern end of the bullet train in Japan. "Shin Hakodate Hokuto" is the name of the station. The tourists from the main island of Japan Honshu change the train to reach Hakodate and the interior of Hokkaido.
If you show the Hokkaido Love Six Day Pass, you can get 10- percent discount in the souvenir shops in the railway stations in Hokkaido. Actually, I was asked if I have the HL ticket or not by the staff of the souvenir shop in Hakodate Station.
