On the hillside of Mt. Esan, we looked around and saw the Eruption Gulf called "Funka-wan" in Japanese over the hill. The contrast of blue ocean and barren hillside was so intriguing.
The nature of Hokkaido is said to be bigger than that of the main island of Japan but I think it's much smaller than that of North America and other continents.
What is the cutting edge of Hokkaido ? I think its appropriate size and a variety of quality foods in each season. Without driving 1,000 km, we can reach the ocean, hot springs, mountains, autumnal beautiful leaves. Cost performance is superb for tourists !
