Watching these photos, I was convinced of the reason why my wife and I had been allured to this village every year. This is Shimamaki Village on the west coast of Hokkaido Island in Japan.
White drapes around the hillside of the mountains added so nice taste to the scenery of the dark green.
Running to the southern part of the village, I was so impressed by the building of the fisherman's Association in the town. This is the branch office of the fisherman's association but it must have been swamped by Ohtsunami, big wave 23 years ago when I count the dead bodies of 198 people on the west coast of Hokkaido Island.
