Canoeing in the creek of marsh !

Canoeing may be the best way to step into the world of wildlife of marsh. It is a way to pay courtesy call without bothering wildlife.

 The ladies learned how to use a oar and canoe from the representative of Gustatory Terminal Conchiglie in Akkeshi Town.

He taught the ladies the manner on the creek and how to approach the wild creatures.

 Usually, this canoeing tour is not gratis but this time, Mr. Katou kindly presented this exciting experience to the ladies.

He is a very busy and go-to guy but he devote his precious time for the beautiful ladies from outside of Hokkaido.

 So far, no creature appeared on the water but but handling the oar was so fun for them.

BBQ Restaurant in Akkeshi Conchiglie !

Gustatory Terminal Conchiglie in Akkeshi Town has some restaurant in its building on the hillside from where the beautiful landscape including the coastline could be seen.

One of the restaurant in the building is "Aburiya" where the top quality food sourced locally could be grilled and savored.

Pork, beef, chicken, lamb, squid, shrimp, scallop, potato cake, pacific saury, mackerel, almost everything you can try in the restaurant are produced in the area.  

 Please be careful and do not touch the edge of the grill. It is so hot. It is surefire way to understand the quality and the taste of the quality food.

Akkeshi Town Museum ! Before saying good-bye !

The ladies visited the museum of Akkeshi Town and I am not sure t
the name of the temple Kokutai.

 The crest of the temple was that of the Tycoon family Tokugawa.

The premises of the temple was so cozy and neat. The green of the landscape put us at ease.

 It was so comfortable to breathe in the woods. I am fastidious about the design of the garden in the temple and shrine.
After visiting the temple, we dropped by the seafood market nearby.

It's Miracle !

I was given a briefing on the geographical, political, industrial and other kinds of information about Akkeshi Town and adjacent area from my immediate supervisor but he and I did not expected the continuing fine weather in this area where it was and is foggy in summer.

 The beautiful coastline should be seen under the fine weather even in this foggy area if the deities of the turf allows. During our project, it had been so fine for weeks. "It is miracle !" said one of the kelp-picking fishermen as well as the civil clerk of the town.

Fried fish, salty squid, sushi-grade fresh pacific saury and other food sourced locally made us so happy in the restaurant run by a fisherman in Akkeshi Town.
Just visit the town and be stuufed with the cuisine !  

Red-crowned White Crane in the marsh !

The red-crowned white cranes looked like trimming their body after having finished their meal.

 They had no kids yet but they seemed to be ready to leave their gene.

They seemed to feel comfortable without other couples on the marsh. Their turf might be much wider than I imagined.

 I think this kind of crane is one of the most beautiful birds on this globe. Don't you think ?

Have you ever seen the horses of this kind ?

I was very surprised to see the similar kind of horses in Iceland before.
I Samurai Era of Japan, the Samurai warrior rode this kind of small horses, not Arab and Thorough-bred.

 In the movie films describing the Samurai Era, all the Samurai warriors rode the horses of much bigger size.  

But the reality was that Samurai warriors did not fought each other on the horses' backs. Samurai warriors used the horses only for moving to the venue of the war. They were like knights.
In Japan, the horses of this kind can be seen in Tokara Islands and here in Hokkaido..

 Re-crowned white cranes stay in the marsh in Kushiro sub-prefectural area. Some are migratory birds but some are not.

This marsh is the sacred area for the migratory birds and other kinds of creature.

Feast in the farm !

The table in the farm cafe seemed to be cluttered with various kinds of items such as oil and small pots.

This soup was so nice and tasty. Please try it if you visit Kushiro Marsh.

On top of the yum main dishes of the cafe, this cake put us all at our ease and inspired us with the quality material food sourced locally.  

The perspectives of Akkeshi Town could be seen from the farm. It was so fine and the view was so clear. Thanks, God !

I was not sure if the meat for the dishes in the cafe was provided from this farm or not. The black pig was so cute that we decided not to imagine "the process". The farm was wide enough to enjoy horse riding.
