We walked around the hot spring pond "ohyunuma" near the hot spring spa "Yumoto" run by Rankoshi Town where delicious top quality rice "Rankoshi Mai" is produced. You can easily recognize the difference of the taste if you had.
But speaking of the pond, the smell of sulfur was so strong that we had to do laundry in the room we stayed. Hotel Setsu Niseko had such nice laundry machine and strong detergent for the guests, particularly of long stay.
The wood deck built around the pond was so nice to walk on around the pond. The deck seemed to be sulfur proof naturally even on the hot spring. We have never seen wild animals around the pond before but I remember so many bison warm up themselves in "Yellow Stone National Park" of the United States of America.
