Mr. Joji SETA kindly explained on the history of the immigrants from Japan to Hawaii. After having tough time and era in Hawaii, the immigrants from Japan established a bank to help mainly the immigrants from Japan start businesses in Hawaii.
The veterans who fought in Europe in World War Ⅱ were the main driving force to establish the bank. The first immigrants from Japan did not include the citizens of Hokkaido if any, very few. Most of the immigrants from Japan consisted of the people from Fukuoka, Okinawa, Hiroshima.
The first immigrants from Japan are called "Gannenmono" in Hawaii. They and their offspring had so tough time during World War Ⅱ . The sons of the immigrants had to join the US Army to fight against the Axis of Countries including Japan, Germany and Italy.
