I am not sure how old is this house but it is well-maintained and I think it was refurbished so nicely once or twice. I think some kind of subsidies were required but if not, I admire the owners extremely.
This is Hakodate Nishi High School that has produced so many top dogs of Japanese society. The students commute to this high school crawling up the hill from the trolley station.
The students who got the prize in some kinds of competitions are shown their names and praised on their way to high school. It must be the way to raise able youths, I think.
