Snow LanternStreet in the Port City Otaru !

I love this scenery of the downtown of Sapporo City that can be seen from the west end of the premises of Hokkaido University before sunrise. 

The beautiful

twilight welcomed us so nicely when I chose this route for routine jogging early in the morning . 

We visited the Port City Otaru on that day and joined its snow lantern festival held on the former railway area in the City. 

The citizens made up the various kinds of snow lanterns along the trail and a gentleman kept the candles inside burning .

 

Basketball Team Revanga Sapporo !

We got tickets of the basketball game Hokkaido Revanga vs Sendai and went to Hokkaido Athletic Dome "Kitaeru Sapporo" . 

In order to allure many people to the games, a variety of attractions, kitchen cars and tricks including DJ were well-organized in the facility. 

The colourful lightnings played up the stage so much that the cost of the frills of the game must have been so expensive t mak money, I assumed. 

Exocism at the age of 59 !

It is said that males should be taken off the evil with the help of the Shinto Shrine Priest at the age of 42, 59, 60  and 61.

At these age, males can be suffered by the evils and malice, they say. We had to be purified our soul and body in Shinto Shrine, so we chose Suwa Shrine in Sapporo on that day. 

The hand washing area of the Shrine was decorated with flowers, umbrellas and objects as usual. The water flowing from the mouth of a small dragon was so cold but keep flowing to wash up our pot of soul.

 

At the end of winter!

Even at the

beginning of April, such heavy snowfall can be seen in Hokkaido. Actually, I hadexperienced harsh blizzard during the

long holidays

at the beginning

of May decades ago. 

 w

The experimental agricultural

fields on the premises of Hokkaido University got covered with

white snow on that

day. 

In a several

weeks, this white fields would turn to be brown, yellow and green under the

bright sunshine of spring. The season of blossoms of cherry, small white magnolia would be coming. 

 

Red Eagles won the game !

The opening of the ice hockey game toward the  Championship games  was comparatively calm on the cold ice field tha: made shaarp sounds with the eds of skate shoes.

The move of the icepack of the hockey game could be seen even for me but it might be tough for an old foggy to catch up with the speedy move of the pack and game. 

Fortunately, we could share the delight of winning the game with Red Eagles. Tochigi Ice backs showed us their best

performance but lost the game on that day.

 

Red Eagles Based in Tomakomai City !

The professional ice hockey team Red Eagles based in Tomakomai City where one of the biggest paper manufacturer in Japan has its headquarters was struggling to reach the play-off for the Championship in Asia.

One of the most  important games in the Asian Ice Hockey League  was held in Tomakomai City.

The opposite side of the arena was filled up with the supporters of Tochigi Ice Backs. Looking back, it was so nice game heated up!

 

Ice Hockey Team Red Eagles !

It was so cold in the ice arena for ice hockey game in Tomakomai City. I brought and wore ski suit but the seats near the ice field were heated so nicely that iI did not have to wear the ski pants as a result. 

The mascot character of the local ice hockey team "Red Eagles" strolled around before the  team members enter the ice field. 

The arena became   filled up with the fans and icehockey guys to approximately 2000 in total. I was not used to being enthusiastic but the atmosphere made up a kind of keen spear and tickle my soul gradually. 

 

Jamia Millia Islamia, Faculty of Engineering and Technology!

It was a traditional behavior to present a plant to the guests to show their intention to nurture the relationship.  

But in case of the guests from overseas, it is prohibited to bring back the plant to their home country. So we had to leave them behind and took only the memorial  object with the name of the university Jamia Millia Islamia.

The professors requested me to invite some of them to Hokkaido to check up the environment, terms and condition to send their students . 

 

Dosanko Society in Delhi!

The Hokkaido Delegation met the members of Hokkaido Society in Delhi and had lunch together. We were so proud of their contribution to their company and activities in India. 

They kindly offered their cooperation  when the Governor of Hokkaido or Leutenant Governor visit Delhi. They said that when a gubernertorial visit was made to Delhi, the prefectural society got so enthusiastic that they took the opportunity as a kind of festival and made the most of the event to strengthen the tie of the people from the same prefecture.

We had so nice lunch with the people from Hokkaido and were inspired so much with their tough experiences in India.
