There is Hokkaido Paraguay Association in Sapporo. The office is in Sapporo Branch Office of Nippon Travel Agency that took care of the Hokkaido Delegation to Paraguay last year. The President of Hokkaido Paraguay Association Mr. Shuji OCHIAI was also handed the commendation shield from the Representative of JICA in Paraguay Mr. Norio YONEZAKI.
The Vice President of Brazil Hokkaido Culture and Welfare Association Mr. Oston Ichiro HIRANO also took part in the ceremony. He kindly came to Paraguay from Sao Paulo to escort the Hokkaido Delegation to Sao Paulo. The associations of Hokkaido immigrants seemed to have good cooporative relationship each other.
Hokkaido Delegation members looked around the facility for the immigrants from Hokkaido and their offspring. They visited a Japanese language teaching class at first. The level of Japanese language teaching is highest in South America.
