The Courtyard of former Hawaii Hotel !

The signing-up ceremony to establish a sister-state relationship between Hokkaido and Hawaii was conducted so enthusiastically on May 9(Mon.), 2017. 

These photos were taken four months before the real ceremony. I checked up all the details about the venue foe the ceremony in my private trip to Hawaii.

The foyer of the building played a important roll in the ceremony in May of 2017. My friends provided me with so helping hands in the midst of the event.

 

Present from Morocco to Hawaii !

Before establishing a sister-state affiliation, the State of Hawaii was offered to be the ones with Morocco. This water fountain of Arabic taste was brought by the government of Morocco.

It is in the courtyard of the Museum of Hawaii, namely the former building of Hawaii Hotel and currently the building for Department of Business, Economic  Development and Tourism as well.

Can I say the design is colonial style? I am not sure but I have many happy memories with this building and the courtyard.

 

Other theme of the snow sculpture in Sapporo Snow Festival 2017 !

Other than "Arc de Triomphe", a variety of snow sculpture were made in Odori Park Area, Sapporo. "Whale Home", "Final Fantasy", "Totto Shopping Street"and "Taipei Guest House" were there.

The 40th Anniversary snow sculpture of "Star Wars wasin 10 chome area of Odori Park. Normally, before the huge snow sculpture were made, so beautiful illuminations decorated the City of Sapporo.

I am wondering how the annual snow festival would be held in Sapporo in February of 2021. I hope so many people would be able to visit there in coming February.

 

Arc de Triomphe in Sapporo Snow Festival 2017 !

"Arc de Triomphe" was the motif of the snow statue in Odori Park 7 chome area. It was colored by the tricolor of the French national flag.

The colors of blue, white and red was made by the spot lights. I think Ambassador of France came to Hokkaido and paid the courtesy call on the Governor of Hokkaido and took part in the opening ceremony of the area. 

The statue of horse-riding was beside the Arc de Triomphe and colored with red. I hope the Ambassador of France was satisfied with the art work of snow. 

 

Mt. Yotei & hamburger in autumn,2021!

This was our third time to have "Black Wood Grill" in "MIRU" International Resort Group headquartered in Singapore. It has branch facilities in Kyoto and Amami Island as well. 

This is "Wagyu Hamburger Set" priced 2,800 Japanese Yen. It was so delicious but to be honest, I prefer "Double Patty Double Cheese Hamburger Set" priced 2,000 Japanese Yen. 

The QR code was shown on the table to install the application of the resort group and if you install the application, you can get 10% discount. I had the Wagyu Hamburger Set at the price of 2,520 Japanese Yen. 

 

Mt. Yotei in autumn, 2021！

Harvesting seemed to have been finished at  the foot of Mt. Yoyei. Some farmers were cultivating the veggie fields in the comfy winds under the blue sky. 

Onions and potatoes were picked up and dried for shipping in the warehouse. We are so looking forward to the steamed potatoes and sauteed onions.

This is the international resort hotel group "Miru" headquartered in Singapore. "Black Wood Grill" where we savored "Double Patty Double Cheese Hamburger" is in it.

 

Remembering Sapporo Snow Festival in 2017 !

So many people take part in the snow sculpture competition from other parts of this globe including Japan every year. This is Chuukondou of Temple Kofukuji in Nara Prefecture.

It was sponsored by a TV broadcast company in Sapporo, HTB. The lighting was so nice because the details of the Japanese traditional building were superb.  

The white snow sculpture was lit in purple and blue in the evening in front of the audience from all over the world in February of 2017. So many people pray for the festival in coming February, 2022.  

 

Missing Sapporo Snow Festival !

The citizens of Sapporo City and the tourists from other parts on this globe are missing Sapporo Snow Festival "Yuki Matsuri" in in Japanese language. One of the huge snow statues was themed "Star Wars".  

In the festival, an international snow sculpture competition is held every year. The chefs of Royal Hawaiian had taken part in the competition every year.

It took almost a week to make the snow sculpture but staying such long must be expensive for the competitors from foreign countries but they had come every year. We really appreciate their enthusiasm and vigor.

 

Aquarium in Waikiki !

These creatures can be seen from the outside of the building of the aquarium in Waikiki. Precisely speaking, it is on the Diamondhead side of Kuhio Beach near the residential area. 

I've never enter this aquarium but every morning, I greeted to these creatures during our stay in Honolulu. Even early in the morning, they receive me so kindly.

These creatures can be seen even in front of Waikiki Beach while snorkeling so easily but watching the beautiful fish on the ground is also relaxing and refreshing so much.  

 

Beef up and Jog around !

I hope the steak looks so delicious for you even though my skill to take photos is terrible. Anyway, they were so nice to have but we had to be careful to avoid burn because the dishes were so hot.

When we grill the steaks, we have a rest for the steaks to extract the best of bests from the meat. I am not sure the chefs of Wolfgang do that but I am sure the chefs of Hy's Steakhouse do that. 

After beefing up ourselves, I jogged around Waikiki as my routine exercise at the beginning of the day. On my way to Diamondhead, I dropped by a small aquarium  near the beach.
