The time of the official reception hosted by the State of Hawaii was getting closer. I strolled around in the Washington Place and imagine the sadness the last monarchy Queen Lili'uokalani felt.
Her senior brother King Kalakaua was also expressed so nicely in his portrait. Wearing the occidental attire, he had to show that their culture leveled with that of western countries. Japanese Imperial family did the same before.
What we have to fight against must be the same as the Hawaiian monarchy. Living the western life may be different from our original taste but actually, it may be convenient and comfortable, even if they paralyze the alert system in our minds.
