The last monarchy Queen Lili'uokalani was the younger sister of King Kalakaua. She got married with Mr. John Owen Dominis who would become the Governor of Oahu. She must have had tough time even after the marriage. The people who got married with one of the the Royal family members wanted the premises owned by the Royal family.
King Kalakaua passed away during his stay in San Francisco and Queen Lili'uokalani ascended the throne. The Pleasure Islands has the history of tragedy and delights.
As the Sister-state of the State of Hawaii, we Hokkaido citizens should learn the history of the islands. The islands are located at the center of the Pacific Ocean and has so important role strategically.
