The downtown of Hakodate City looked blurred from Motomachi Park at the foot of Mt. Hakodate on that day. I had seen the same kind of scenery misted after terrible earthquakes.
I remembered the earthquake in southwestern Hokkaido including Okushiri Island. I counted 198 dead bodies at that time. That was at seven twenty. I was drinking in our favorite bistro "Izakaya" in Esashi Town. We were shaken up so hard. We have to prepare for such disasters. Appropriately frequent training should be conducted by the core members of the pertinent staff.
