My counterpart Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism and US-Japan Council led off the actual opening session of the Hawaii-Japan Economic Summit with the speeches of the Governor of the State of Hawaii at that time Mr. David Yutaka IGE.
My friend late Irene Inoue also extended her appreciation to the participants to the session and explained the singnificance of the meeting.
Watching these photos, I remembered her speech and conversation with me. I am very proud of my completion of the mission from her before saying good bye.
