The immigrants from Japan were mainly composed of the ones from Fukuoka, Okinawa, Hiroshima. About one hundred and fifty years ago, the immigrants from Hokkaido moved to Hawaii.
Some of them might have been discouraged by the productivity of their land in Hokkaido. The lands of good condition might have been developed and owned by the pioneers of the first stage of the development of Hokkaido. So some people who could not be satisfied with the potential of their lands given, departed from Hokkaido and headed to Hawaii or South America.
The history of the immigrants from Japan was so harsh. It was so hard just after their arrival in Hawaii and in World War Ⅱ.
