This is the inside of the Ice Bar built in front of the entrance of La Vista Mt. Asahidake. Transparent ice blocks were so beautiful with the natural sunshine in daytime and with illumination lighting in night time. It was so cold inside that some cusions were put on the ice blocks used as chairs.
This is the entrance of Hotel La Vista Mt. Asahidake of Daisetsuzan that I posted sometimes. "The garden where the deities are romping around" is the expression for the highland. The peak of Mt. Asahidake is 2,291 meters high and lower than the peaks of the highest mountains in the main land of Japan.
But the latitude of Hokkaido Island is higher than the mainland of Japan and it is colder in Hokkaido than the mainland of Japan, the highland plants, animals such as pika, birds such as grouse can be seen more easily than the mainland. The peaks of the highest mountains in the main land of Japan are sharper than Daisetsuzan area. The colorful hillside of Mt. Asahidake and other area of Daisetsuzan mountainous area in autumn looks like a huge garden for God.
