Mt. Esan shining with the setting sun could be seen clearly from the window of Hotel La Vista Hakodate on that day. Soon the Port City Hakodate would be covered with the darkness and starlight.
Mt. Hakodate-yama made its shape so clear against the backdrop of the blue sky, white clouds and setting sun.The west side of Oshima Peninsula could be seen over the hillside of the mountain.
I would run into the hillside of the mountain and shortcut to Yachigashira District behind the mountain. The silhouette of the mountain showed that the peak was good place to build the fort with artilleries.
