The Owner of the Fishing Nets and Vessels !

by Kazu

This is the entrance of the Japanese auberge in the port city Otaru, Ginrinsou, the former mansion of the owner of the fishing nets and vessels in Yoichi Town next to Otaru. The port and the downtown of Otaru City could be seen from the parking lot of the auberge.
The old mansion had the watch to find the pacific herrings swamping to the coast. The building was dissected to thousands of parts and carried to this place from Yoichi Town.
The main entrance of the auberge had this Japanese traditional shop curtain called "Noren". The motif was two fish facing each other. The old style living had the small family altar.
