Ohmorihama beach of Hakodate!
by Kazu
Japanese famous poet Mr. Takuboku ISHIKAWA made a line of poem on this beach Ohmorihama in the Port City Hakodate many years ago. The statue of the poet was raised as a monument.
Mt. Hakodate could be seen from the beach. The cloud in the sky and the setting sun gave a special twist to the scenery on that day. My wife and I stayed in the hotel "Umi-no-Kaze" which means "the wind on the strait" .
The hotel is located on the backside of the hotel "Takuboku-tei" and connected with the hotel on the each floor so that the guests staying in "Umi-no-Kaze" can enjoy the large hot spring bath on the top floor of "Takuboku-tei". The guests staying in "Takuboku-tei" can not enter "Umi-no-Kaze".
