Upopoi in Shiraoi Town !

Minister of Land, Infrastracture, Transportation and Toursm Mr. Kazuyoshi AKABAvisited the Space of Ethnic Harmony, National Museum of the Indigenous People of Hokkaido Ainu before its official opening.

Governor of Hokkaido Mr. Naomichi SUZUKI and top brasses of the facility welcomed the Minister and his delegation. The facility is called "Upopoi" which means "sing together" in the language of Ainu tribe.

To draw as many tourists as possible to the facility, Ainu Culture Foundation, Japan Tourism Industry Association and Nation Wide Tourism Association held the Hokkaido Tourism Seminar in the Exchange Hall of the facility.
