Arch on Noa reached Mt.Ararat ?

by Kazu

It is said that the Ark of  Noa reached the hillside of  Mt. Ararat which peak is much higher than Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain in  Japan. Some parts of  the cubic ship was found near the peak of  Mt Ararat, I heard before.
Turkey has a variety of  faces and  countenances in its  nature, architectures, landscapes and  people. I an sure your will be never disappointed when you visit the country.
I  thought that  the desert area of  the inland seemed  like that  in  the United States of  America. But the culture was  so different in total. I love that  exotic atmosphere and  the people.

Goreme in Turkey !

by Kazu

Goreme  National Park and  Rock Site of Cappadocia also struck me as  the art of  stone when  I visited the country with my  wife in 2000. The stone pillars like chimneys were used as the residents of  the people.
There are also the underground cities digged and  developed by Greek Christians in  the Old Roman Era. Hundreds of  thousands people were living there.
The underground city had  winery, wine cellar, houses of  livestock, town hall and  other necessary facilities and  spaces for the normal lives  of  the people.

What is "Small Asia" ?

by Kazu

I love to see  the ships going through Bosporus Strait from  the lookout on the hill all day long. The strait divides the Occident and  Orient in Turkey. When I  visited the country in  2000,I  actually did  that with my  wife. The Orient Area of  the country is called " Small Asia" for a long time.
Topkapi Palace Museum was also marvelous and  showed  the power of  the Empire with its  precious jewels and  architectures exhibited amply in the building.
The landscapes of  the country showed changing various countenances like those of  Japan. On top of  that, as Turkish belongs to Altaic language, so  it  may be easier to learn Turkish than other languages.

It means "Cotton Castle"!

by Kazu

The taste of  Islamic culture such as the Mosques of  Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and  their  minarets made so exotic atmosphere in Istanbul but  they had  been  built as the cathedrals for Christians. The fusion of  Islamic culture and  Christian created unparalleled beauty.
When I visited Turkey with my  wife in 2000, we were particularly struck by  the Cotton Castle in the inland of  the country. The rainfall of  slight acid penetrated the limestone and carried the calcium carbonate.
The calcium carbonate water heated by geothermal underground turned to hot spring and  made the white terrace like a terraced paddy fields. "Pamukkale" is the name of  this place, which means Cotton Castle.

Minarets of Mosque!

by Kazu

Ottoman Empire conquered and  annihilated Eastern Roman Empire. It  made the capital city  Constantinople its own capital after that. These beautiful land had turned to the battle fields again  and  again  but  recovered from  the terrible damage.
It must have been so  tough even for the well-organized empire and the soldiers to protect their  territory and  nations from  greedy nations of  other regions on  this globe. So the empire explored and expand their  territory beforehand.
The Photo Exhibition named " 100 Discoveries, the Fascinating Turkey that you don't know" held in SCARTS Studio of  Sapporo Citizen's Exchange Plaza on May 10(Wed.)through 15(Mon.), 2023,  told us  so much in celebrating the 100th Anniversary of  the Establishment of  the Republic of  Turkey.

A Variety of Countenances in Turkey !

by Kazu

You may not  know that there is the  House of  Maria who  had  given a birth to Jesus Christ, in  Turkey. She passed away in  the  small house on  the  hill.  We  saw a small small house there.
I could not  see the  photos  of  Maria's house in the Photo Exhibition " 100 Discoveries, the Fascinating Turkey that you don't know" held in SCARTS Studio of  Sapporo Citizen's Exchange Plaza on May 10(Wed.)through 15(Mon.), 2023,  celebrating the 100th Anniversary of  the Establishment of  the Republic of  Turkey.
When we visited Maria's house, not  so  many
Christians seemed to have visited there frequently.  Our tour guide kindly took us  around in the country but the group of tourists did not seem so impressed in  the tour. I  love the select of  the photos for the Exhibition.

What I felt in Turkey !

by Kazu

In the Photo Exhibition " 100 Discoveries, the Fascinating Turkey that you don't know" was held in SCARTS Studio of  Sapporo Citizen's Exchange Plaza on May 10(Wed.)through 15(Mon.), 2023,  celebrating the 100th Anniversary of  the Establishment of  the Republic of  Turkey, the photos  of so breathtaking landscapes could be seen.
A variety of  sceneries filmed in  each season were grabbed my  heart again in the studio. I had seen the minalets of  the " Blue Mosque" in  our last visit but  not  in  such condition.
It is like the world of  deities in the fascinating country even if  it has so complicated history and  the nation is struggling to get out of  the  current harsh economic situation.
