At the beginning of autumn this year, Hamada Orchard got a rain fall before our visit. After rainfalls, the some of the fruits swell and crack, said Mr. Hamada, the ownner of the orchard.
Apples turned redder than those produced in the main island of Japan, he said. Mr. Hamada runs this big orchard now but his ancestors raised rice crops
Mr. Hamada ordered his staff to cut some red apples and provided us with fresh delicious slices of apples. The taste was superb ! He offered some prunes and pears as well.
